Swimming properly is based on the four foundations of swimming, which are: Breathing, kicking, pulling water, and the timed coordination of these skills. These are taught so that a swimmer can properly support their body in the water, especially in emergency situations. Often if a student is taught incorrectly, this will lead to “thrashing,” which in most situations will not help the swimmer.

We focus on building skills, endurance and a strong kick.

Coach Cooper has spent over twenty years developing this method of teaching based on these foundations. Our instructors are friendly, enthusiastic teachers with extensive swim backgrounds. 

The following is a description of the levels of lessons.

 

Group Levels

Basic Beginner:

Ages 3 and Up

Skill Level Required: None

This level is offered to children ages three and older who are not proficient in the water. Emphasis is on air exchange, a strong kick, feet first entry into the water, a forward stroke, and back floats.

Advance Beginner:

Ages 3 and Up

Skill Level Required: Able to move unaided in the water, comfortable in the water

They must be receptive to instructions and unafraid of the water. This group will work on breathing techniques, a strong kick, and basic stroke techniques.

Intermediate:

Ages 3 and Up

Skill Level Required: Comfortable in Water, Strong Kick

This group is open to children who have a comfortable breathing tempo and a strong kick. Swimmers are taught how to coordinate breathing and kicking with arms.

 

Minimum age is 3 yrs; parents are not permitted in the water.

  • Basic Beginner: 30 Minutes 

  • Adv. Beginner: 35 Minutes 

  • Intermediate: 45 Minutes

Mommy and Me

Ages 2 and under

This is a class where mom and baby can bond while getting your infant comfortable in the water. Taught by Taylor Cooper.

Cost per session $50

Teens Intro into Swimming

Ages 12 to 18

This class is 4 lessons for 20-45 min depending on class size.  The dates of the lessons will be determined by instructor and pool availability.

Learn the basics of swimming. Participants will learn the fundamentals of swimming such as kicking, rotary breathing, front crawl. This is for those with no swimming skills. 

Cost per session $58

Adult Lessons

Ages 18 and up

This class is 4 lessons for 20-45 min depending on class size.  The dates of the lessons will be determined by instructor and pool availability.
